OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's soccer team kicked off the OUA playoffs with a dramatic 3-2 win over the Queen's Gaels at Vaso's Field.
Erion Metaj opened the scoring late in the first half off an assist from Alex Maadanian in the 30th minute. Just six minutes later, Noah Mossavat gave the Ridgebacks a 2-0 lead, finishing a pass from Christian Keshishian.
After halftime, Queen's battled back with a goal from Adam Al-Habadi in the 64th minute. Antony Dawoud extended Ontario Tech's lead once again with an unassisted goal at the 90-minute mark. Queen's Cameron Cino responded with a goal of his own, but the Ridgebacks ultimately held on to win the match.
The Ridgebacks will now move on to the OUA Quarterfinals on Saturday, October 18 when they head out on the road to take on the Toronto Varsity Blues.
