Ontario Tech wraps up semester with a home loss to McMaster
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ridgebacks women's basketball team couldn't recover from an early McMaster run, falling 82–66 on Sunday at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
McMaster set the tone early with a strong first half, leading 47–25 at halftime. Ontario Tech responded with its best stretch in the third quarter, putting up 22 points and finding some rhythm offensively, but the deficit proved too large to erase.
Kaleah Gosse led the Ridgebacks with 13 points, knocking down a pair of threes and adding three assists and three rebounds. Elliot Cowan and Amarachi Achioso provided energy throughout, with Cowan scoring 10 points and Achioso adding seven. Ontario Tech's bench contributed 28 points, highlighted by balanced scoring from across the rotation.
McMaster's Tayler Scott paced all scorers with 23 points, while three other Marauders reached double digits.
Ontario Tech now heads into the winter break and will return to action on Friday, January 9 when they travel to Ottawa to face the Gee-Gees.
