Ridgebacks fall short of come back against Nipissing
OSHAWA, Ont – The Ontario Tech women's soccer team fell short of a come back in their second game of the season, losing 4-3 to the Nipissing Lakers at Vaso's Field.
Nipissing's Jessica Emmerton opened the game with a goal in the eighth minute. The Lakers later increased their lead 2-0 30 minutes into the game with a goal from Rylee Traicoff.
The Ridgebacks started the second half strong, with Sara Wylie (Mississauga, Ont.) putting Ontario Tech on the board with a goal in the 48th minute, but the Lakers' Bella Norte quickly responded with a goal of her own.
Cassidy Brooks found the back of the net in the 63rd minute. However, the Ridgebacks dug deep with Priscilla Voulgaris (East York, Ont.) and Ella Pechoff (Ottawa, Ont.), ending the game with a goal for each.
Ontario Tech will return to action tomorrow on the road against the Toronto Varsity Blues.
