Ridgebacks eliminated with 4–0 loss in Game 2
OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team saw its season come to a close on Friday night, falling 4–0 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees in Game 2 of the OUA Playoffs.
Needing a win to extend the series, the Ridgebacks were unable to generate the breakthrough they were looking for despite a strong push early. Ottawa opened the scoring at 14:40 of the first period before adding two quick goals early in the second to take control of the contest. The Gee-Gees added a fourth midway through the third to secure the series victory.
Edouard Gauthier made 23 saves on 27 shots in the loss, including 10 in the third period. Ontario Tech fired 19 shots on goal, with eight coming in the opening frame, but could not solve Ottawa netminder Franky Lapenna.
The Ridgebacks went 0-for-2 on the power play while successfully killing all four Ottawa opportunities.
With the result, the Ridgebacks men's hockey team has concluded their 2025/26 campaign.
