Irwin and Orr named Ontario Tech student-athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Alexander Irwin (London, Ont.) of men's soccer and Kendra Orr (Brooklin, Ont.) of lacrosse have been named Ontario Tech student-athletes of the week for the period ending on October 22.
Irwin, a second-year communications and digital media studies student, played a pivotal role in Ontario Tech's 1-0 victory over the Carleton Ravens scoring the lone goal in the game. He also contributed to a Ridgebacks back four that held a clean sheet against the top five ranked Ravens to secure a bye through the first round of the OUA playoffs.
Orr, a second-year kinesology student, picks up her second athlete of the week honour of the season by scoring eight goals on the weekend in the lacrosse program's final regular season games of the year.
Both teams will look forward to the OUA Championships this weekend, with Lacrosse traveling to Tindal Field in Kingston, Ont. and the men's soccer program will host an OUA playoff game at Vaso's Field on Saturday, with an oppenant and time to be determined on Wednesday.
