Chisholm and Coore named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) of women's soccer and Kairo Coore (Whitby, Ont.) of men's soccer have been named the Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday, September 1.
Chisholm is the all-time saves leader for Ridgebacks women's soccer and is returning for her fifth year with the team. In her first start of the season against the Queen's Gaels, she registered seven saves.
Coore made his regular season debut with the Ridgebacks against the Queen's Gaels and made an immediate impact by finding his first goal of the year in the 39th minute. After the half, Coore would continue to impose his will on the game, assisting Finn Bansal's (London, Ont.) game-winning goal in the 60th minute.
Both the Ridgebacks men's and women's soccer teams will take a quick break from OUA action this week when they square off against the Durham Lords at Campus Cup on Tuesday, September 3. The doors open at 5 p.m. with more ways for students to express their school pride than ever before. They will then turn their eyes to another home game on Friday, September 6 against the Nipissing Lakers at Vaso's Field at 6/8:15 p.m.
