OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey program is heading east for a pair of pivotal exhibition games this week as they face off against the UNB Reds and Saint Mary's Huskies.

"Our program is very excited to be heading to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to kick off our 2024-25 season with a couple of exhibition games against two of the top programs in the country. Both UNB and Saint Mary's are perennially national contenders, and we look forward to competing against them in what should be two terrific games," said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins.

The UNB Reds are coming off a perfect season, which saw them win 43 straight games and ended with them hoisting the 2024 U CUP after defeating the UQTR Patriotes 4-0 in the final game.  They'll face the Ridgebacks on Friday, September 13, in exhibition action and will be coming to Oshawa next year for a pair of exhibition games in return.

While out east, the Ridgebacks will also stop on Saturday, September 14, to take on the Saint Mary's Huskies, who finished fourth in the AUS last year and made it to the semi-finals of the AUS playoffs.

"I know our players who have not experienced the Maritimes before are excited for the opportunity to see a different part of the country but especially excited are the players who either reside in the Maritimes or who played their junior hockey out there as they will have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family once again," said Hodgins.
