Men's soccer move up to seventh in national rankings
OSHAWA, Ont. – After a goal-filled Friday night at Vaso's Field, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team is ranked seventh in the nation in the U SPORTS Top 10.
The Ridgebacks took care of business at home this week, taking down the Nipissing Lakers 5-0 behind stand-out performances from Kairo Coore (Whitby, Ont.) and Alex Maadanian (Markham, Ont.).
The move sees the Ridgebacks move within two spots of the York Lions, who hold steady at no. 5 after a 2-2 draw and 1-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors. UBC, Montreal, and Carleton hold the top three spots.
A big weekend lies ahead for the Ridgebacks, with two nationally ranked teams coming to Vaso's Field. The third-ranked Ravens will be in town on Saturday, September 14, at 3:15 p.m. with the TMU Bold on Sunday.
