OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ridgebacks men's hockey team's playoff run came to an end on Saturday evening with an 8-0 loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on the road.
The Ridgebacks and Gee-Gees battled hard early on, with just one goal from Luka Verreault separating the two teams after one period.
In the second, a rash of penalties saw the Gee-Gees capitalize with two power-play goals early in the period, and they would capitalize on another power play for their fourth goal late in the second before the floodgates opened for four Gee-Gee goals in the third.
The Ridgebacks have officially been eliminated from the OUA Playoffs with the loss.
