Ridgebacks land highly sought after Dufort

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ridgebacks men's hockey team is happy to announce the first addition to their 2024-25 recruiting class with the commitment of highly touted winger Ludovic Dufort.

The right winger comes from the MHL, where he filled his trophy case with accomplishments playing for the Miramichi Timberwolves. In 2024, he was named the MHL player of the year and was on the 2023-24 all-star team.

During his time in the MHL, Dufort set a Miramichi team record for goals in a season with 46 and was third in the league in scoring 82 points across 52 games. Dufort scored five goals on January 28th against Summerside, which was the most for any player last season and had at least 14 games with at least three points and nine games scoring more than one goal.

"We are very excited to welcome Ludovic to our program. He has had two outstanding seasons in the MHL and really exploded this year into one of the premier players in the league," says Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. "Ludovic has a great shot and release, which he uses effectively, and we look forward to adding him to our Ridgebacks' forward group as we build our team for another exciting OUA season."
