Ross signs with ECHL's Stingrays

After finishing his time as a Ridgeback, Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) has officially signed with the South Carolina Stingrays of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

OSHAWA, Ont. – After finishing his time as a Ridgeback, Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) has officially signed with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL.

Ross joined Ontario Tech for the 2019-20 season and has been a consistent member of the Ridgebacks attack since. He took over as team captain two years ago, and this year, he scored eight goals and had five assists in 23 games and helped lead the team to a playoff appearance.

Outside of his time on the ice, Ross has been an active member of the Ridgebacks community, donating his time as a student-athlete mentor and as a Member At Large of the Ridgebacks Leadership Council.

"Our entire program is very excited to see Sean get this pro hockey opportunity in the ECHL. He has been a truly great Ridgeback for the entire five years he has been on our campus. He has also been a fantastic captain these past two years," said head coach Curtis Hodgins. "He plays the game hard and the right way, but more importantly, he is a tremendous human being who is a pleasure to be around at all times. We are all excited to follow his future successes and wish him all the best in his professional hockey endeavours. "
