Ridgebacks curling competes at McMaster Invitational

The Ontario Tech men's and women's curling teams traveled to Hamilton to compete in the McMaster Curling Invitational this weekend.

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's and women's curling teams traveled to Hamilton to compete in the McMaster Curling Invitational this weekend.

The men's team started the event with a 12-1 loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks, where Laurier but rebounded winning four straight games to finish the event strong. They took consecutive 6-4 victories over McMaster Varsity, and the TMU Bold and finished the event with a 10-6 win over the Western Mustang and a 9-8 thriller against the McMaster Junior Varsity squad.

The women's team conceded games to Toronto, Laurier York and Trent, and were just shy of pulling out a win against Brock, who had had a 3 point final frame to secure a 7-6 defeat for the Ridgebacks.

Both the men's and women's curling teams will be back in action on January 20 and 21 for the Brock Invitational in St. Catherines, Ont.
