Nurhussien signs with Brampton Honey Badgers

Ayub Nurhussien is signing his first professional contract, joining the Brampton Honey Badgers after an outstanding 2023-24 season with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Ayub Nurhussien is signing his first professional contract, joining the Brampton Honey Badgers after an outstanding 2023-24 season with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

"I am extremely excited to join the Honey Badgers this summer. I want to thank Ontario Tech and Coach Deluxshan for developing me this year, the free flowing offense has allowed me to showcase my talents," said Nurhussien. "I look forward to learning and being able to bring back everything that I have learned to Oshawa!"

Nurhussien joined the Ridgebacks this season and was instantly a critical factor in the Ridgebacks' offense. He finished with 14.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 21 games. The Ridgebacks finished with a program-high 16-6 regular season record and picked up their first playoff win with a 89-78 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

"Ayub has been a great addition to our Ontario Tech program. At six-foot-ten, he is a coach's dream with his ability to shoot the ball and how well he moves," said head coach Deluxshan Pathmanathan. "I am excited to see him develop through the Brampton Honey Badgers this summer. We will be rooting for him this summer."

Nurhussien is the second Ridgeback ever to sign a CEBL contract, joining Graddy Kanku, who was drafted in the third round by the Ottawa BlackJacks in 2021.
