Ontario Tech finds late rhythm but drops road contest
SUDBURY, Ont. – A strong second half wasn't enough for the Ontario Tech women's basketball team on Saturday as they fell 72–56 to the Laurentian Voyageurs at Ben Avery Gym.
Laurentian built a 22–8 lead after the opening quarter, forcing the Ridgebacks to play from behind the rest of the night.
Ayat Weber led Ontario Tech with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Brianna Morrison and Rosheen Antonroy each added 11. Felicity Villarin chipped in nine points and three steals.
The Ridgebacks finished 22-for-26 from the free-throw line and forced 21 Laurentian turnovers, but the Voyageurs' 36 points in the paint and 43–31 rebounding advantage proved decisive.
Ontario Tech will look to bounce back when they return home to face the Laurier Golden Hawks on November 21 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
