Toll and Maadanian named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Olivia Toll (Oshawa, Ont.) of lacrosse and Alex Maadanian (Markham, Ont.) of men's soccer have been named the Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on September 8.
The Ridgebacks lacrosse team tipped off their season on the road with a 10-6 victory over the McMaster Marauders, where Toll picked up three goals and two assists. Toll also found the back of the net in the first game of the day against the Western Mustangs.
Maadanian and the Ridgebacks men's soccer team continued to roll on their road to nationals as they took down the Nipissing Lakers 5-0 at home on Friday night. Maadanian found his first goal of the season in the 37th minute and also picked up two assists along the way.
The lacrosse and men's soccer programs will be in action this weekend, with lacrosse heading out on the road to take on the Queen's Gaels and McGill Redbirds. Men's soccer will be at home on Saturday, September 14, at 3:15 p.m. to take on the Carleton Ravens before hosting the TMU Bold in a doubleheader with women's soccer on Sunday, September 15, at 1/3:15 p.m.
