Sananes joins women's basketball as assistant coach
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team is proud to announce the addition of Lexie Sananes as the new lead assistant coach.
"I am honoured to be joining the women's basketball program at Ontario Tech," said Sananes. "This is an exciting time for a program that's growing and full of potential. I'm eager to contribute to the development of our student-athletes, build strong relationships both on and off the court, and help foster a strong, competitive culture within the Ridgebacks community."
Sananes brings over a decade of coaching experience, including ten years at the university and college levels with the Seneca Sting and York Lions. During her time with York, she became the full-time lead assistant coach in program history after being with the team since 2012.
Her coaching also extends far beyond the university level, as she has helped shape the next generation of athletes as a member of the Team Ontario coaching staff, earning four gold medals and a bronze at the U15 and U17 levels. She's also coached in the OSBA and JUEL Elite leagues.
"I am excited to welcome Lexie to the program as our new Lead Assistant Coach," said Ridgebacks Head Coach, Hugo Boisvert. "Lexie brings valuable experience from both the U SPORTS and OCAA levels, as well as from her involvement with provincial team programs. I know that her relentless work ethic and commitment to the role, combined with her ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with our athletes, will be key to growing this program. I am thrilled to have her on board!"
