Ridgebacks fall in OT to Ravens
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team dropped a tight overtime contest Friday night, falling 3–2 to the Carleton Ravens.
Julianne Davidson opened the scoring midway through the first period for Ontario Tech, finishing a setup from Milana Perri and Leigh Burkitt to give the Ridgebacks a 1–0 advantage.
Carleton tied the game in the second period when Payton Miller converted on a play assisted by Avery Krawchuk and Hayden Serniuk. The Ravens then took the lead in the third as Lanie Guimond scored off a feed from Olwen Jones.
Ontario Tech responded quickly on the power play as Ella Dickson buried her first of the season from Madison Deschamps to even the score at 2–2.
In overtime, Miller struck again for Carleton, netting the winner just 3:34 into the extra frame with helpers from Victoria Kay and Kennedy Vickers.
The Ridgebacks will see a quick turnaround as they play the TMU Bold tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Think Pink doubleheader at the Campus Ice Centre.
