The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team picked up their second win in a row, defeating the York Lions 4-3 on Friday night in Toronto.

TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team picked up their second win in a row, defeating the York Lions 4-3 on Friday night in Toronto.

After going down by two goals in the first period, Andrew Suriyuth (Kingston, Ont.) got Ontario Tech on the board, cutting York's lead in half, before James White (Peterborough, Ont.) tied it up later in the frame. The Lions briefly regained the lead in the third thanks to Brock McLeod's short-handed goal, his second of the night, but Ontario Tech wasn't done. Alex Drover (Hammonds Plains, N.S.) scored on the power play to make it 3-3 and send the game to overtime.

In OT, it was Antoine Desrochers (Victoriaville, Que.) who sealed the win for the Ridgebacks, scoring just over six minutes into the extra frame, assisted by Gabriel Bernier. Ontario Tech outshot York 41-27, with goaltender William Desmarais (Sherbrooke, Que.) coming up big, stopping 24 shots.

The Ridgebacks make their home debut tomorrow night when they take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Campus Ice Centre at 7 p.m.
