Student-Athlete Mentor program returns for 2024-25
OSHAWA, Ont. – We would like to take some time to thank the incredible work done by this year's Student-Athlete Mentors.
This peer-mentor program connects first-year student-athletes with a mentor that supports their academic success and helps connect them with campus resources. The program has been running for six years and has been an integral part of Ridgebacks culture.
"Being a mentor in the student-athlete mentorship program is an opportunity for me to give back to a program that played a huge role in my own growth," said student-athlete mentor, Ashkaun Mohammadi. "As a former mentee, I know firsthand how valuable guidance and support can be in balancing academics and athletics as well as my personal life. This experience helped me develop both as a student and as an athlete, and now I want to pay it forward by helping other young athletes navigate their own."
