Ridgebacks beef up blue line with imposing defenseman Park
The Ontario Tech men's hockey team is pleased to announce the addition of six-foot-three defenceman Alex Park.
Park joins the Ridgebacks after completing his final season of junior hockey with the Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League where he appeared in 18 regular season games and helped solidify the Nordiques defence as they made a push for the playoffs.
"Alex was truthfully a major upgrade for the defence core in Maine last season," said Maine head coach Nick Skerlick.
Prior to his time in Maine, Park was a mainstay for the Shreveport Mudbugs. In 2022-23 he appeared in 53 regular season games with 23 points on the season. Park would continue his consistency with Shreveport during the 2023-24 season, appearing in 40 games and gathering 10 points before the move to Maine.
"We are excited to add Alex to our program," says Ontario Tech head coach Curtis Hodgins. "We were in the market for a right shot D-man with some size who could replace some of our graduating seniors and we believe Alex has the potential to fill those holes."
