Marquis’ standout debut earns OUA East All-Rookie nod
OSHAWA, Ont. – A standout rookie campaign has earned Ontario Tech forward Zachary Marquis a spot on the OUA East All-Rookie Team.
Marquis made an immediate impact in his first year in Oshawa, recording 20 points in 28 games. He finished second on the team in points, trailing only Gabriel Bernier.
While Marquis found plenty of success setting up his teammates with 15 assists, he also added five goals, including two on the power play. His biggest moment came on January 31 when he scored the overtime game-winning goal against the RMC Paladins. Marquis also showed his playmaking ability with multiple two-point performances during the season, including a two-assist outing in a 5–1 win over Queen's on October 24.
"Zach had a great first season with our program," said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. "He played a key role with our forward group right from day one and contributed in all areas. It's nice to see him get rewarded for his efforts."
