Calisti signs professional contract with Guildford Flames
The Guildford Flames have announced the signing of Ontario Tech defencemen Stephen Calisti to a professional contract.
"I am looking forward to starting my professional career next season," said Calisti. "Ontario Tech has allowed my confidence to grow, which will help me at the next level…I have built relationships with my teammates that will last a lifetime and couldn't be happier to share my time at Ontario Tech with them."
Last season Calisti led all defenseman on the Ridgebacks with 18 points, including three goals and 15 assists. Calisti will join a Guildford team that has had success over the past two seasons, with a record of 48-32-12.
"Our program is very happy to see Stephen land with a great team in Guildford to begin his pro career," said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. "Ridgeback alums Kyle Locke and Alex Yuill have said nothing but good things about their experience with the Flames club and their overall cultural experience in England following their time spent in U SPORTS. This should be a great spot for Stephen to get his pro career off the ground. "
