Ridgebacks blanked by Redbirds in road defeat

The Ridgebacks' road woes continued as they fell 6-0 to the McGill Redbirds on Saturday at the McConnell Arena.

MONTREAL, Que. –  The Ridgebacks' road woes continued as they fell 6-0 to the McGill Redbirds on Saturday at the McConnell Arena.

Despite an early push, Ontario Tech struggled to contain McGill's offence, which exploded for four goals in the third period to seal the victory.

Brandon Frattaroli led the charge for McGill with two goals, including the game's final tally with just under two minutes remaining. Mitchell Prowse opened the scoring in the second period, while Xavier Fortin, Charles-Antoine Dumont, and Stephane Huard added goals of their own. Alexis Morin contributed two assists and logged significant ice time.

Ontario Tech netminder William Desmarais made 32 saves in the loss, facing 38 shots. The Ridgebacks were outshot 15-7 in the third period and struggled to capitalize on their three power-play opportunities.

The Ridgebacks return to action on November 29, hosting the Lakehead Thunderwolves at the Campus Ice Centre.
