Salma Bafagih, a Master of Health Sciences in Community, Public, and Population Health degree candidate in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHSc), has set her sights on understanding Canadians’ food literacy in hopes to help them choose healthier options.

With a generous donation from Manulife to Ontario Tech’s Tech with a Conscience fundraising campaign, Dr. JoAnne Arcand and a team of dietitians and graduate students designed and launched the Sodium 101 web application, which seeks to raise awareness about the long-term risks of excessive sodium consumption, and empower Canadians to make healthier dietary choices.
