Prior to joining the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Dr. Ronald Hinch was a faculty member at the University of Guelph in Ontario, where he served as Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. A Handbook of Food Crime: Immoral and Illegal Practices in the Food Industry and What to Do About Them,  In January 2019, Dr. Hinch's book  which he edited with former Criminology master's student Allison Gray, received an  Outstanding Academic Titles award from Choice magazine.
