Ms. Heckbert’s doctoral research examines legal and organizational strategies to close the gender gap in leadership roles. Applying feminist, critical race and behavioural economics theories, Ms. Heckbert's research analyzes and explains the causes of gender gaps in management. She uses equality theory and comparative law methods to advocate legal and organizational reforms taking advantage of constitutional and treaty level supports in Canadian and European law.
