Scott and Anderson named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Mackenzie Scott (Peterborough, Ont.) of women's soccer and Baxter Anderson (Langley, B.C.) of men's hockey have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday, October 6.
Scott helped led the Ridgebacks to a 1-0 win over Laurentian, and a 2-2 draw against Toronto this past weekend playing three different positions, impacting the game with her defensive intensity and offensive play making that led to a goal against the Varsity Blues.
Anderson helped the Ridgebacks to their first win of the season, beating Carleton 5-4. In order to pull off the win, the Ridgebacks had to score four goals in the last period. The five-foot-nine forward had two assists as well as one goal during the game.
The Ridgebacks women's soccer team will face Carleton on Saturday, October 12 followed by a match against RMC the following day. The men's hockey team will face York on Friday, October 11 followed closely by a Saturday, October 12 match up versus Ottawa.
