Ridgebacks down Voyageurs at home
OSHAWA, Ont – The Ridgebacks women's soccer team earned their third win of the season as they downed the Laurentian Voyageurs 1-0 for their last home game.
Sara Wylie (Mississauga, Ont.) helped the Ridgebacks get off to a fast start and claimed the lone goal of the match 14 minutes into the game.
The Voyageurs struggled to find their opportunity to score with four shots compared to the Ridgebacks' 17. Georgia Hogan (Ottawa, Ont.) got some help from Wylie and brought attacking pressure with nine combined shots.
Laurentian's goalkeeper, Hunter Jones, made an impressive 11 saves. However, the Voyageurs struggled to find a way through the Ridgebacks' defence.
The Ridgebacks now turn their heads to their final games on the road against the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, October 12, and the RMC Paladins on Sunday, October 13
