OSHAWA, Ont. – Zoe McGee turned aside all 43 shots she faced as the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks edged the Waterloo Warriors 1–0 on Friday night in OUA women's hockey action at Campus Ice Centre.
The Ridgebacks were outshot in every period but found the back of the net early in the second when Robyn Storey buried a power-play marker just 50 seconds in, assisted by Julianne Davidson and Cassandra Delves. That goal stood as the game-winner as McGee slammed the door the rest of the way.
Ontario Tech finished 1-for-5 on the power play while their penalty kill went a perfect 5-for-5, surviving a first period where they took four minor penalties. Waterloo's Lauryn Busseri stopped 21 of 22 shots in the loss.
With their first win of the season in the books, the Ridgebacks will look to build momentum Saturday when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues at the Campus Ice Centre.
