Ridgebacks edged by Varsity Blues on home ice
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team opened the scoring Saturday night but couldn't keep pace with the Toronto Varsity Blues, falling 5–1 at the Campus Ice Centre.
Emily Harrison scored the lone Ridgebacks goal, capitalizing on a first-period power play at 4:08, assisted by Julianne Davidson and Robyn Storey.
Toronto responded less than two minutes later and went on to score four unanswered goals — one in the first, two in the second and two more in the third — to seal the win.
Goaltender Ava Antle faced a heavy workload, turning aside 33 shots in the loss. Ontario Tech finished 1-for-4 on the power play, while Toronto went 0-for-1.
The Ridgebacks will be back in action on Saturday, October 24, when they face the Carleton Ravens at 7 p.m. at the Campus Ice Centre.
