Ridgebacks power past TMU for Think Pink win
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team wrapped up the Think Pink double header with a 2-1 win over the TMU Bold on Saturday night at the Campus Ice Centre.
After a scoreless opening period, the Ridgebacks' special teams took over in the second. Robyn Storey broke the deadlock at 3:50 with a power-play goal, assisted by Emily Harrison and Julianne Davidson. Less than five minutes later, Harrison doubled the lead, also on the power play, with helpers from Davidson and Harrie Jones.
TMU made things interesting late, capitalizing on a power play of their own as Cailey Davis scored at 14:31 of the third to cut the deficit in half. However, Ontario Tech goaltender Zoe McGee stood tall the rest of the way, finishing with 24 saves to secure the victory.
The Ridgebacks went 2-for-6 with the man advantage, while their penalty kill held TMU to one goal on five opportunities.
