GUELPH, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team lost 2-0 to the Guelph Gryphons on the road on Friday night.
Goaltender Ariella Merlino kept the Ridgebacks in the game with a 33-save performance, including 14 stops in the opening period. Ontario Tech managed just 16 shots on goal, with nine coming in the second frame.
Jessica Teskey opened the scoring for Guelph at 5:10 of the second period. Jayden Calder doubled the lead just 26 seconds into the third on a power play.
The Ridgebacks finish up their weekend road trip in St. Catharines, Ont. when they take on the Brock Badgers tomorrow at 6 p.m.
