SUDBURY, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks struggled to find their rhythm Friday night, falling 75-34 to the Laurentian Voyageurs at Ben Avery Gym.
Brianna Morrison led the Ridgebacks with eight points and three steals, while Ayat Weber provided a late spark, scoring all 10 of her points in the fourth quarter. Ontario Tech shot just 19.6 per cent from the field and turned the ball over 25 times.
Laurentian took control early, leading 19-11 after the first quarter. The Voyageurs' defence stifled the Ridgebacks in the second and third quarters, allowing just nine total points in that span. Laurentian held a commanding 43-point lead in the fourth before Ontario Tech closed on a 14-4 run.
