Ridgebacks lose to Gee-Gees in season finale
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball closed out their season with an 81-28 loss on Saturday evening against the visiting Ottawa Gee-Gees.
The game saw the Ridgebacks honour their two graduating seniors, Sherlyne Tesoy Andres (Mississauga, Ont.) and Marie Stasiuk (Cobourg, Ont.). They also honoured student-trainer Wasim Abdi for his contributions to the team this year.
At the half, the Ridgebacks fans were treated to a dance routine from Afiwi Groove as part of the ongoing celebration of Black History Month at Ontario Tech.
Tesoy Andres led the Ridgebacks with six points and two rebounds, while Stasiuk and Elliot Cowan (Chatham, Ont.) both chipped in five points, three rebounds, and two steals.
Victoria Brideau led the Gee-Gees in scoring with 13 points off the bench.
