Ridgebacks head to consolation finals
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's soccer team bounced back from a Thursday night's defeat with a 2-1 win over the UNB Reds to head to the consolation finals.
UNB jumped on the Ridgebacks early, putting Ontario Tech on the back foot first entire first half and peppering goalkeeper Kevon Grant with 11 shots in the first 45 minutes. The Reds would also find a goal from Ehab Moustafa at the 24th minute mark, assisted by Stefano D'Ambrogio.
In the second half, the Ridgebacks successfully turned the tide on the game starting with a 62nd minute goal from Erion Metaj assisted by Alex Maadanian. Kairo Coore secured the game with an unassisted goal in the 84th minute.
With the win, the Ridgebacks are on to the consolation finals where they'll take on the St.FX X-Men at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 9.
