Ridgebacks drop second game on northern road trip
North Bay, Ont. – The road to the Bruce Power U SPORTS Men's Soccer National Championship has turned rockier than expected after the Ridgebacks lost 2-1 to the Nipissing Lakers.
The Ridgebacks found the back of the net first with a goal from Kairo Coore (Whitby, Ont.) who has continued to be a key cog in the Ridgebacks offence. Nipissing responded with a well executed free kick from near half field that resulted in a header from Olutosin Ajakaiye.
The teams went into break even, and traded chances throughout the second half. Ajakaiye struck again in the games final moments, and the Ridgebacks began to frantically search for an answer with several chances coming up just short.
The Ridgebacks will return to action later this week when they take on the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough, Ont. on Friday, September 27.
