The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team has added size, composure and leadership to its back line with the commitment of Dominick Gafoor.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team has added size, composure and leadership to its back line with the commitment of Dominick Gafoor.

A commanding centre back from Whitby, Ont., Gafoor joins the Ridgebacks following a strong development pathway through OPDL competition and a decorated high school career.

"We are very excited to announce the addition of Dominick," said head coach Ramin Mohammadi. "He's a commanding centre back who brings composure, leadership and a strong defensive presence. He fits exactly the identity we're building. Welcome to Ontario Tech, Dominick!"

Standing six feet tall, Gafoor has built his game around strong positioning, physicality and an ability to organize defensively. He spent multiple seasons competing with Durham FC in the OPDL, where he captured Umbro Cup titles at the U14 and U15 levels and added a Trillium championship at U16.

He continued his development with Pickering FC, earning a Las Vegas Surf Cup championship, before capping his youth career at Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School. There, Gafoor served as team captain and led his squad to three LOSSA gold medals in 2022, 2024 and 2025, along with a silver medal in 2023 and a Tiger Bowl championship in 2022.

Off the pitch, Gafoor will pursue a Bachelor of Arts and Co-op (Honours) in Criminology and Justice.
