Ridgebacks wrap up U SPORTS Championship run in consolation game
The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team closed out their first run in the U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship with a 2-1 loss to the StFX X-Men on Saturday night.
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team closed out their first run in the U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship with a 2-1 loss to the StFX X-Men on Saturday night.
The Ridgebacks fell behind early in the game when Charlie Waters picked up a goal in the second minute for the X-Men. Throughout the first half, the Ridgebacks would find several chances but couldn't convert, despite registering seven shots. Kyle Cordeiro doubled the X-Men's lead shortly after half.
Erion Metaj picked up another goal, assisted by for the Ridgebacks to get them on the board in the 67 minute.
With the loss, the Ridgebacks record setting 2024 season has come to an end.
