Esprit scores first of season in loss to Carleton
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's soccer team battled hard in a physical contest at Vaso's Field but ultimately fell 3-1 to the Carleton Ravens.
The Ravens opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a goal by John Aldiban. Ontario Tech responded after halftime when Trivine Esprit buried his first of the season in the 58th minute on a setup from Alex Maadanian.
Momentum shifted back to Carleton just minutes later as Darren Bouaziz restored the Ravens' lead in the 62nd minute, followed by a late insurance marker from Adrijan Vranjkovic in the 85th.
The match was defined by its intensity, with the referee handing out eight yellow cards — six to Ontario Tech and two to Carleton.
The Ridgebacks will be back on the field Sunday, September 21, in Toronto, Ont. to face the Varsity Blues.
