OSHAWA, Ont. – Kara Woodworth of rowing and Erion Metaj of men's soccer have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday,November 3.
Woodworth and her team mate Kierstyn Hawke travelled to Victoria, B.C. for the annual Canadian University Rowing Championship over the weekend and made history by picking up silver medal in women's double – a first for the Ridgebacks program.
Metaj also made history this week by becoming the first Ridgebacks men's player to score in an OUA men's soccer final. Metaj would net another goal to secure the first OUA men's soccer championship in program history. Metaj was also named the OUA athlete of the week for his performance.
While the rowing season has come to an end, Ontario Tech will be hosting the Bruce Power U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship this week, starting on Thursday, November 7.
