OSHAWA, Ont. – Erion Metaj has been named Ontario University Athletics Player of the Week after an outstanding showing in the OUA Finals that secured the Ridgebacks' first OUA Championship in program history.

The leading and only goal-scorer for the Ridgebacks was Metaj, who opened up the game with two goals off headers, giving the Ridgebacks a lead that would see out the game. Metaj had an incredible playoff run as the Ridgebacks called on him as a regular target on set pieces, scoring four goals in four games after scoring only two during the regular season.

The star of the match shared his thoughts after the the OUA Finals game had concluded, "Absolutely unreal feeling this team, this group, this coaching staff. Second to none. It's honestly one of the best teams I've ever been a part of. Hard work gets you there. We deserve it."
