Ridgebacks surge in second period to defeat Badgers
OSHAWA, Ont. — The Ontario Tech women's hockey team closed out their home schedule before the winter break in style, skating to a 6–1 win over the Brock Badgers on OUA Pride Day at the Campus Ice Centre.
After a scoreless first period, the Ridgebacks erupted for three goals in the second. Ella Dickson opened the scoring on the power play, followed by an even-strength marker from Emily Harrison and another power-play strike from Mackenna Krulicki with one second left in the frame. Krulicki added her second of the game early in the third to make it 4–0.
Brock answered moments later, but the Ridgebacks regained full control with two more goals: one from Milana Perri at 9:31 and another from Julia MacDonald at 14:40 to close out the win.
Zoe McGee made 22 saves for her fourth victory of the season, while Ontario Tech finished 3-for-6 on the power play.
The Ridgebacks now wrap up their fall semester on the road, visiting the Waterloo Warriors and the Western Mustangs next weekend.
