Lawson-Hayes leads Ridgebacks award recipients at OUA Soccer Awards
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's soccer team was well represented at the annual OUA Soccer Awards, with four players earning recognition for their performances and contributions this season.
A committed leader both on and off the field, Landyn Lawson-Hayes continues to make an impact in his community. The second-year commerce student works as a foster care support worker, assisting children in care and collaborating with foster parents to implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
In addition to his work in foster care, the Ridgebacks defender gives back to his community by coaching youth at his local soccer club—continuing to inspire and mentor the next generation through sport and service.
Erion Metaj was named an OUA East First-Team All-Star after leading the Ridgebacks in scoring with six goals this season. Metaj has continued to impress on and off the field, becoming a true leader for Ontario Tech.
Alex Maadanian and Christian Keshishian were both named OUA East Second-Team All-Stars. Keshishian joined the Ridgebacks this season and made an immediate impact, scoring four goals, including a hat trick in a 5–1 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs.
