Ontario Tech men’s hockey signs forward Daks Klinkhammer
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team is happy to announce the addition of forward Daks Klinkhammer to its 2026–27 recruiting class.
"We are extremely excited to add Daks as our first recruit for the 2026–27 season," said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. "He is a big body who skates very well and plays both sides of the puck, which makes him a great fit for our lineup. Daks is a high-character, team-first individual and we greatly look forward to him joining our program this September."
Klinkhammer spent two seasons with the Flint Firebirds of the OHL from 2022 to 2024, appearing in 89 games before joining the Sudbury Wolves for the 2024–25 season. He later finished the year with the Greater Sudbury Cubs of the NOJHL, where he appeared in 30 games, recording 18 goals and 11 assists. He added another 24 points in the playoffs while helping the Cubs capture the NOJHL championship and advance to the Centennial Cup.
This season, Klinkhammer has continued to be a dominant force for the Cubs, scoring 25 goals and adding 39 assists through 46 appearances.
"Daks brings a complete package on both sides of the puck each and every night," said Greater Sudbury Cubs head coach Darryl Moxam. "His size and skating make him a very dangerous power forward, and he has the ability to impact the outcome of games in a number of different ways. His leadership and commitment to his teammates, the community, and the entire Cubs family have been a critical part of our success during his time here in Sudbury. Ontario Tech is very fortunate to be adding not only a great player, but also a great person."
