The Ridgebacks are excited to welcome fans back to the Tribute Communities Centre on January 15 for the third annual Carriage Cup! Come cheer on the men’s hockey team as they face off against RMC Paladins at 7 p.m.

We invite you to be a part of the excitement in downtown Oshawa and continue to build this tradition. Come meet Hunter the Ridgeback, win awesome prizes and bring your Ridgeback spirit.

All proceeds from the third annual Carriage Cup will go towards supporting the Ontario Tech Adopt-a-Ridgeback program.

Buses will be transporting students on a first come, first serve basis from South Village Residence to the Tribute Communities Centre. The bus will return to South Village Residence, with a stop at 2200 North as well, following the game.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The biggest game of the year returns to the Tribute Communities Centre as the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks take on the RMC Paladins in the third annual Carriage Cup on Thursday, January 15.

Carriage Cup came from a collaboration with the Ontario Tech Student Union (OTSU) and pays homage to the innovative and entrepreneurial history of automobile manufacturing in Oshawa. The event has continued to grow throughout its first two years, with more than 1,700 fans in attendance for the game.

"We are very much looking forward to the third edition of the Carriage Cup this coming January," said Ridgebacks Head Coach, Curtis Hodgins. "The first two games have been a terrific experience for our players with the incredible atmosphere and energy in the Tribute Communities Centre that has made for some exciting hockey. We are looking to regain the Carriage Cup trophy once again this year and know the Ontario Tech community will be out in full force to support our team!"

"The Tribute Communities Centre has played host to two amazing Carriage Cups so far, and this year is shaping up to be the best year yet," said Ridgebacks Athletic Director, Audra Sherman. "Events like this not only showcase the incredible talent within our program but also showcase our school spirit and pride. It's a celebration of what it means to be a Ridgeback."

In 2006, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks were officially accepted into Ontario University Athletics unanimously, and Ontario Tech has been fostering high-performance student-athlete development ever since. The Ridgebacks honour more than 70 academic award winners every year and hold an average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
