BCHL stand out Ballantyne joins men's hockey 2025-26 recruiting class

The Ontario Tech men's hockey program is excited to announce the addition of Andrew Ballantyne to the 2025-26 recruiting class.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey program is excited to announce the addition of Andrew Ballantyne to the 2025-26 recruiting class.

"We are very excited to welcome local Brooklin native Andrew Ballantyne into our Ontario Tech family, " said Ridgebacks Head Coach Curtis Hodgins. "Goaltending has always been a strength of our program, and Andrew will certainly be another quality addition to that group. He is a very athletic goalie with good size and has put up solid numbers over his junior career, including in the tough BCHL over the last couple of years. Not to mention, he is an outstanding individual who will fit nicely into the culture of our program. "

The Whitby, Ont. native is bringing a high quality of play to the Ridgebacks, building off last season, where he played for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL. He averaged 2.60 GAA with a .909 save percentage over 34 games and was a finalist for the Michael Garteig Trophy for the BCHL's Best Goaltender of the Year while also being selected for the BCHL All-Star team.

"I am excited to join the Ontario Tech program for next season," said Ballantyne. "Coach Hodgins and Coach Powers have built a successful and winning program that produces players for the next level. Along with being close to home and being able to stay in a familiar area, I couldn't be happier for next season."
