Ridgebacks fall to Concordia at home

The Ontario Tech men's hockey team wrapped up their weekend at home with a 5-1 loss to the Concordia Stingers on Saturday night.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team wrapped up their weekend at home with a 5-1 loss to the Concordia Stingers on Saturday night.

Ben Roode scored the lone goal for Ontario Tech early in the third period, assisted by Duston Hutton and Nolan Ford. Goaltender William Desmarais made 35 saves in the loss.

Concordia built a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from Sean Larochelle on the power play and Isiah Campbell at even strength. The Stingers extended their lead in the second with a goal from Daniel Agostino before Roode cut the deficit. Agostino added two more in the third, including an empty-netter, to complete the hat trick.

The Ridgebacks will be traveling to Quebec on Friday, February 7 for the second game of the home-and-home series with Concordia.
