Strong start lifts Ridgebacks past Lancers
WINDSOR, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's basketball team earned a 65–59 road victory over the Windsor Lancers on Saturday night at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
The Ridgebacks set the tone early with a 22–10 first quarter, building a lead they would never relinquish. Ontario Tech led by as many as 24 points in the third before holding off a late Windsor push to close out the game.
Keon Baker paced the Ridgebacks with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Caleb Kassa added 15 points and six boards. Emmanuel Okonkwo filled the stat sheet with 13 points, seven steals, and an assist, while Tombe Pitia contributed six points and nine rebounds.
Ontario Tech shot 34.8 per cent from the floor and 58.3 per cent from the free-throw line, but their defensive intensity proved the difference—forcing 14 Windsor turnovers and converting them into 17 points.
Luke Grace led the Lancers with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Yohann Sam finished with 12 points.
The Ridgebacks return home on Thursday, November 6, when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
