Zhang joins women’s basketball program from Richmond, B.C.
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball program is happy to announce the addition of Susu Zhang to their 2025 recruiting class.
Zhang, a five-foot-nine guard from Richmond, B.C., joins the Ridgebacks after a successful high school career at R.A. McMath Secondary School. She brings versatility to the lineup, having played across the backcourt and wing as a point guard, shooting guard, and small forward.
During her time with the McMath, Zhang served as team captain in her senior year and was awarded the 2025 Campbell Cup. She helped lead the team to a Richmond and South Fraser championship, ultimately finishing eighth in the provincial tournament.
"We are thrilled to welcome Susu to the Ridgebacks community," said Ridgebacks Head Coach Hugo Boisvert. "She is a versatile player with very good court vision and understanding of the game. She is also a strong student and we're confident that she will embody our values both on and off the court."
Zhang also competed with Split Second Varsity on the club circuit under coaches Novell Thomas and Renda Imer.
She will enroll in the Forensic Science program at Ontario Tech this fall.
