Ridgebacks playoffs run ends in OT

The Ridgebacks men's hockey season has come to an end with a 3-2 overtime loss in the first round of the OUA Playoffs.

OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ridgebacks men's hockey season has come to an end with a 3-2 overtime loss in the first round of the OUA Playoffs.

The Ridgebacks struck first when Jeremy Michaud buried a goal at 8:37 of the first period, assisted by Cullen McLean and Andrew Suriyuth. After Ottawa responded with a power-play goal in the second period, Justin Svenson put Ontario Tech back in front just 18 seconds into the third.

However, penalties proved costly as Ottawa capitalized on a power play midway through the third to tie it up.

Goaltender Beckett Langkow made 16 saves for Ontario Tech.

Early in overtime, Tayem Gislason was brought down in front of the net in a controversial no call that allowed Bradley Chenier to seal the game for the hosts with the overtime winner at 1:04 of the extra frame.
